The teaching methodology is a fundamental aspect to ensure the efficiency of learning in school institutions, and it must be constantly reviewed and updated, in order to follow the progress that is made in the most diverse areas in which society is subdivided. One of these areas is Mathematics, an essential subject in the curriculum of any school, and a fundamental element for social and economic development. In this context, the present study examined the influence of teaching methodology on the occurrence of disinterest, indiscipline and repetition in the discipline of Mathematics. Through the analysis of traditional and innovative approaches, such as the personalization of teaching, the active participation of students, the use of digital technologies and the resolution of authentic problems, it was possible to identify key factors that impact student engagement. By adopting more dynamic and contextualized pedagogical strategies, and by establishing a relationship of trust and support with students, teachers can promote meaningful, motivating and relevant learning in mathematics. These innovative approaches have the potential to transform the teaching and learning experience, allowing students to develop mathematical skills and become more confident and enthusiastic about the subject.
